When the Dunkin Donuts manager at Walmart Super Center, outer Arsenal Street, discovered early Sunday that there was no money in the safe or cash register, all he needed was security video to show that the suspected thief was one of his employees, according to state police.
Nicole B. Bolio Hayes, 24, of 12281 Route 12, Apt. 3, was arrested at 7 a.m. Sunday at her residence on charges of third-degree burglary and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle. She was released without bail by town of Watertown Justice Andrew N. Capone to await possible grand jury action.
Police said she is accused of stealing $1,153 at about 1:25 a.m. after forcibly entering the shop office.
According to documents filed with the court, shop manager John Lietuvininkas arrived at 3:50 to begin his days work, and discovered that no petty cash had been left in the register. He subsequently determined that there was no drop bag with end-of-shift money and no currency in the safe. He and another manager viewed security video, which played out the entire sequence of an intruders actions, according to court documents.
Mr. Lietuvininkas recognized the intruder as Mrs. Hayes, according to the documents. State police were notified at 5:30 a.m.
