CANTON — Shannon Weader made 11 saves to help the SUNY Potsdam women’s soccer team to a scoreless tie with SUNY Canton in a nonconference game Tuesday night.

The schools played for the Boyd Jones Cup, which is named after the former sports information director at both institutions who died in 2009. SUNY Potsdam (2-11-1 overall) kept the cup after winning a shootout 5-4.

Laura Pratt finished with 16 saves for SUNY Canton (6-7-1).

VOLLEYBALL

SUNY CANTON 3, SUNY PLATTSBURGH 1

Morgan Bills and Danielle Swanston each supplied 12 kills to help the Kangaroos (16-2) to a 25-13, 25-23, 22-25, 25-21 nonconference victory in Canton. Swanston also had 10 digs, and Mackenzie Mynter added 38 assists.

MEN’S GOLF

KANGAROOS PLACE EIGHTH

Canton native David Parker shot an 82 and finished with a two-day total of 164 strokes, finishing 25th overall as SUNY Canton finished in eighth at the USCAA National Championship in State College, Pa.

The Kangaroos finished with 678 total strokes. Daemen won the title with 605 strokes.
