Golden Knights victorious in NAC girls soccer

HAMMOND — Alex Amo delivered three first-half goals and Beth Crowley contributed two goals and two assists to lead the Lisbon girls soccer team to a 7-2 win over Hammond in a Northern Athletic Conference West Division game Wednesday.

Maddie Vine and Gabby Walker each scored single goals for Lisbon (4-0-1 overall, 4-0 division).

Alyssa Crosby scored two goals for Hammond (2-2, 2-1).

hermon-dekalb 4,clifton-fine 0

Morgan Scott and Kasey O’Donnell scored in the first half and Abby Mott and modified call-up Bridget Rust connected in the second half to lead the Demons past Clifton-Fine (0-3) in a West Division game in DeKalb Junction.

Rhys Bryant made five saves for the Demons (2-1).

BOYS SOCCER

MADRID-WADDINGTON 5, sT. rEGIS fALLS 1

The Yellow Jackets took a 3-0 halftime lead and went on to defeat St. Regis Falls (1-2) in an East Division contest in Madrid.

Austin Scott, Kyle Bent and Jacob Barney all scored in the first half while Jeff Mott and James Hunt connected for second half goals for Madrid-Waddington (3-2, 3-1). Caleb Green scored a penalty kick for St. Regis Falls in the second half.

NORWOOD-NORFOLK 1, cHATEAUGAY 0

Zeb Brown scored the lone goal of the game from Ian St. Andrews in the 24th minute for the Flyers in an East Division win over Chateaugay (0-3) in Norwood.

Garrett Waite made eight saves for the Flyers (1-2) to earn the shutout.

EDWARDS-KNOX 4, HEUVELTON 1

Tyler Tresidder scored just 58 seconds into the contest and Chris Davison connected 21 seconds apart in the 25th minute of play as the Cougars (1-2, 1-1) built an early three-goal lead over Heuvelton in a West Division game in Russell.

Jeff Arquitt scored from Mike Guardino in the 53rd minute for Heuvelton (2-1).

lisbon 6, hammond 1

Adam Kelley assisted on four goals for the Golden Knights (2-0) in a West Division win over Hammond in Lisbon.

Tristan Vine netted a pair of unassisted tallies for Lisbon. Kelley set up two close range tallies by Cody James and used chip passes to assist on Coleman Smith and Jake Putney markers.

Spencer Pease netted the lone goal for Hammond (0-2).

HERMON-DEKALB 3, CLIFTON-FINE 2

Macauley Snell’s third goal of the game proved to be the game-winner in the 73rd minute as the Demons (1-3, 1-2) edged Clifton-Fine in a West Division game in Star Lake.

Snell opened the scoring with a second left in the first half from Cameron Hance for a 1-0 Demons’ lead.

Clifton-Fine (0-3) regrouped in the second half for a 2-1 lead as Nathan Aldrich and Jake Folsom connected. Snell tied the game in the 60th from Dylan Kimble before connecting for the game-winner.

CROSS COUNTRY

CANTON GIRLS, MALONE BOYS WIN

Canton’s girls took the top four spots and Malone’s boys claimed the top three as both teams claimed victories at the NAC Invitational in Fort Covington.

Canton finished with 16 points in the girls race and Malone was second with 63.

Laura Pierce was the overall girls winner followed by teammates Maria Ricalton, Rebecca DelRossi and Gemma DelRossi.

Malone’s boys finished with 21 points and Gouverneur was second with 82. Connor Gordon won the boys race for the Huskies and was followed by teammates Corey LaMere and Morgan Marlow.

VOLLEYBALL

CHATEAUGAY 3, SALMON RIVER 2

The Bulldogs nearly blew a big lead but rallied for a game five win to defeat Salmon River 25-17, 25-19, 23-25, 22-25, 25-21 in a matchup of undefeated squads in Chateaugay.

Paige English led Chateaugay (5-0) with 23 service points. Carolyn and Desiree Stumpf combined for 13 points and 20 kills for the Bulldogs.

Nicole Smoke led Salmon River (4-1) with 16 points, seven kills and 13 assists.

MASSENA 3, TUPPER LAKE 1

Katelynn Malone scored 27 service points as the Red Raiders earned a 23-25, 25-16, 25-25, 25-15 win over Tupper Lake (0-4) in Massena (5-0), which got a 25-point effort from Krista Loran.

MALONE 3, BRUSHTON-MOIRA 0

Janelle Heden and Brooke Peck each scored 13 points to lead the Huskies (4-1) to a 25-16, 25-18, 25-6 sweep of Brushton-Moira in Malone. Courtney Holcomb led the Panthers (0-4) with seven points.
