NEW YORK — Brittany Pierce scored from 30 yards out in the 24th minute to give the SUNY Canton women’s soccer team a 1-0 win over The King’s College at Riverbank Park on Sunday.

Laura Pratt made four saves for the Roos (2-1). Meredith Drukker turned aside 16 shots for the Lions (1-1).

ST. LAWRENCE 4, MEDAILLE 0

Stephanie Sayward notched two goals as the Saints blanked the Mavericks (1-4) in the second day on the SUNY Cortland tournament.

Julia Friesen added a goal and an assist for St. Lawrence (3-0-1).

WELLESLEY 6, SUNY POTSDAM 0

Emily Wilson netted a pair of goals as the Blue (2-2-1) blanked the Bears (2-2) in Wellesley, Mass.

MEN’S SOCCER

SUNY FARMINGDALE 1, SUNY POTSDAM 0 (OT)

J.T. Famularo scored in the 109th minute to pace the Rams in Farmingdale.

Ricky Meschkow made eight saves for SUNY Farmingdale (1-4). Joseph Glackin also stopped eight shots for SUNY Potsdam (2-2).

MEN’S GOLF

SLU’s WHELAN SHOOTS 69

Jack Whelan’s 69 paced the winning Saints with 298 points in the weather-shortened St. Lawrence Invitational.

Clarkson finished eight with 318, while SUNY Potsdam and SUNY Canton finished ninth and 10th, respectively.

WOMEN’S TENNIS

SLU PAIR TAKES B DOUBLES

Samantha Miller and Suzanne Weinstein won three matches to take the “B” doubles tournament for St. Lawrence at the Mary Hosking Invitational in Geneva.

The pair beat Rochester’s Hayley Brower and Janice Zhao 8-6 in the final.
