Kannapolis-James Patrick Pat Brown, 62, passed away Monday, August 20, 2012 at the Tucker Hospice House. Born October 13, 1949 in Key West, Florida, he was the son of the late Eddie Hugh and Helen Elizabeth Sawyer Brown. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, he had proudly and honorably served his country with the US Army. Mr. Brown had retired, due to failing health, from the US Army, where he had been a Staff Sergeant, specializing in missile repair. A loving father and grandfather, he enjoyed his family, wood working and turning, jewelry making, motorcycles and had been one of Santas Helpers for years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Klopp Brown, October 14, 2009 and a grandson, William A. Williams, June 22, 2005.
Family members left with cherished memories include his daughters, Susan Forbes and husband, Ray and Dawn Williams and husband, Ralph, all of Kannapolis, his sons, James Michael Brown of Fayetteville and Shawn Patrick Brown of Oswego, NY and 12 much loved grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00-7:00 pm at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, 1420 N Main Street, China Grove, NC, 28023. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1601 Cooper Avenue, Kannapolis, NC 28081. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery in Kannapolis, with military graveside honors.
