POTSDAM A Potsdam man accused of identity theft was arrested by state police at 1:29 p.m. Wednesday.
Francis T. Green, 34, of 81 B Pumpkin Hill Road, was charged with felony fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and misdemeanor third-degree identity theft.
Mr. Green, who was arrested at 3:45 a.m. Aug. 11 and charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, was allegedly found in possession of a stolen credit card during the stop.
The victim, whose identity was not disclosed, informed police that the card was used to buy gas at a Stewarts in Potsdam, leading to the identity-theft charge.
On Aug. 11, Mr. Green was found asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle at the intersection of Birch Street and Kenner Road in Hannawa Falls, troopers said. He was evaluated by a drug recognition expert at the Potsdam Police Department.
