Supporters of two local bloggers who are being sued for defamation have launched a legal defense fund for the scribes.

Rick Wiley, at Jefferson's Leaning Left, and Kathy Hludzenski at Pandora's Box of Rocks are being sued by former town councilmen and other supporters of wind power development in Cape Vincent on accusations that the bloggers wrote untrue things that harmed their reputations.

"WE DISAGREE!" the notice about the bloggers' defense fund reads. "These two authors have spoken the truth during this critical fight to protect our community from industrial over-development."

Checks in support of the defense fund can be send to the Bloggers Defense Fund, P.O. Box 8, Three Mile Bay, N.Y., 13693.

"When suit is settled remaining funds will be returned to identified contributors on a pro rata basis," the notice reads.
