MASSENA - U.S. Senator Charles E. Schumer called on the Environmental Protection Agency to fast-track the approval of completion of a proposed remedial action plan to clean up the Grasse River during a stop Wednesday morning at Massenas Alcoa West plant.
This must be done without further delay, as EPA approval could boost and speed up the companies plans to upgrade its manufacturing operations in Massena, which could lead to $600 million worth of investment.
Schumer made his remarks in front of the cast house at the plant which was damaged by fire earlier this year.
