BLACK RIVER — Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies and state troopers were late Sunday night attempting to talk an allegedly suicidal man into coming out of a house on Wendall Lane.

When police were dispatched to the area at 9:49 p.m., they were told the man was armed. There were no hostages involved, according to Jefferson County emergency dispatch.

Black River firefighters were called upon to close off traffic on nearby streets.
