Dylan Evoy of Brockville, Ontario, held off a late charge by Josh VanBrocklin of Watertown to win the St. Lawrence Seaway sportsman series race on Friday night at Mohawk International Raceway in Akwesasne.
VanBrocklin had one last chance to pass Evoy following a restart on lap 37 of the 40-lap series race. Evoy appeared to lose the handling of his race car and VanBrocklin made one last move to catch the leader, but Evoy held on to record the win. It was Evoys 17th win at the speedway that put him on top of the all-time sportsman feature win list.
Watertowns Tim Dunn came out the winner in the 25-lap 358-modified feature, his fourth win of the season. Paul Klagler won his second straight 25-lap mod lites feature. PJ Peters won his second pro lites feature at the speedway this season.
At Brewerton Speedway, Rob Bellinger of Dexter finished second to Billy Decker in the big-block feature on Friday night.
