Adams The funeral for Joseph E. Jennings will be 11 am Thursday, July 12th at the Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville, with Rev. Mary Drake, pastor of the Mannsville United Methodist Church officiating. Burial for the convenience of the family will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Mannsville. Calling hours are Wednesday, July 11th from 4 pm – 7 pm at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Adams VFW, Phelps St., Adams, NY.
Mr. Jennings, 54, of Clay St., Adams, passed away Sunday July 8th at his home.
Joe was born in Watertown, October 25, 1957, a son of John H. Jennings, Sr. and Ruth Robarge Jennings. He graduated from South Jefferson High School in 1976. Joe was a self-employed contractor, operating Jennings Construction.
He enjoyed working on classic cars, playing cards and collecting classic car scale models. Joe was the recipient of a donor kidney in 1985 and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Joe is survived by his mother, Ruth Jennings, Adams. A son Cody, West Monroe. His longtime companion, Brenda Whitney, Adams. Two brothers James E. (Joyce), John H., Jr. (Erin) all of Adams. A sister Jane Pearson (Booney), Adams Center. Several nieces and nephews. Brendas children, Brendan Whitney and Erica Anderson and her two grandchildren Caylie and Blake Anderson. His father, John H. Jennings, Sr. predeceased him on February 7, 1983 and his sister Juana VanEpps passed in 2004. A marriage to Alva Williams ended in divorce.
