Jeffrey S. Backus, 51, of 20178 Reasoner Road, was charged by Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies with second-degree criminal contempt and second-degree harassment at 10 p.m. Friday at his residence following a domestic dispute.

He is accused of violating a Jefferson County Family Court “refrain from” order of protection when he spat in the face of Cathy A. Horbacz.

He is to appear in Watertown Town Court.
