I missed this in the throes of an Excel Spreadsheet nightmare on primary night almost a week ago, but Matt Doheny's campaign has helpfully posted his primary-night victory speech online.
Mr. Dohney will take on Rep. Bill Owens, D-Plattsburgh, after beating Kellie Greene.
The speech served as his first post-primary attempt to frame the election as a referendum on Mr. Owens and President Obama.
"People given a clear choice are going to ask themselves, is the country going in the right direction?" Mr. Doheny said. "If you don't believe so, join my team."
Mr. Doheny said that "if you want to have a couple of lawyers run the country, you're definitely on the Owens-Obama team."
Mr. Obama and Mr. Owens were both lawyers before they became public officials. Mr. Doheny practiced law for a short time after his graduation from Cornell Law School, and his wife is a practicing attorney.
