Cape Vincent- Leslie C. Hubbard, 87, of Cape Vincent and Fletcher, NC, passed away Thursday June 28 in Fletcher, after a lengthy illness.
He was born August 4, 1924 in Cape Vincent the son of Carl W. and Maybelle Constance Hubbard. He graduated from Cape Vincent Schools and served in the US Army for three years during World War 2 in the Pacific Theater. When the war ended he served in Japan for several months before being honorably discharged and returning to Cape Vincent. He married Katherine Goodfriend November 4, 1947.
The couple owned and operated a dairy farm on the Millens Bay Road until retiring. Leslie was an avid sportsman.
He is survived by his selfless caregiver and wife of 64 years, Katherine; a son Thomas, Fletcher, NC; a daughter Sandra Hubbard, Cape Vincent; four grandsons, Lesley, Brock, Lance and Troy Hubbard; a great granddaughter, Evelyn Hubbard; a sister Connie Gardner, Evans Mills and a brother Gerald Hubbard, Aloha, OR. He is predeceased by a brother Donald and a sister Marie.
Calling hours will be 2 – 4 Tuesday July 3 at the Cleveland Funeral Home, Cape Vincent, followed by a burial in St. Lawrence Union Cemetery, Cape Vincent.
