ELLISBURG A Gouverneur man was jailed in Watertown Thursday night under $25,000 bail after Jefferson County sheriffs deputies charged that he was drunk driving at a state park while having two child passengers, ages 2 and 1.
Justin R. Boyer, 28, of 137 Hailsboro St., was arrested at 6:10 p.m. Thursday on Southwicks Beach Road in the town of Ellisburg, and was charged under Leandras law with felony aggravated driving while intoxicated, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, reckless driving, driving without a license, unsafe backing, and failure to yield right of way when entering a highway.
He was driving from the playground to a parking area when he was halted, deputies reported.
The sheriffs office listed his blood alcohol level as 0.13 percent. Under state law, 0.08 percent constitutes intoxication.
He was placed in the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building following arraignment before Ellisburg Town Justice Peter C. Payne.
