Recently Brian Amaral insinuated in his column in the Times that I was the only Jefferson County Republican Party committee member to support Kellie Greene. There are other committee members who support her also. I was the only one to object to the committee endorsing any candidate before the primary when there is more than one running. I carried petitions and got signatures for both candidates.
I trust well-informed voters to pick the best candidate to represent the conservative values that are indicative of the Republican Party. The committee should be working to give candidates a forum to reach those voters instead of trying to pick winners and losers and discouraging potential candidates in the process.
I think Kellie Greene is the better candidate to represent the Republican Party and the most likely to unseat Bill Owens. She is a principled conservative, well informed of the issues, and has original ideas to improve the economy in Northern New York and to deal with national issues. She has the integrity and honorable character that voters are looking for in a representative, someone you can trust to do the right thing when she gets to Washington.
