Watertown- Martin L. Greene, 55, Watertown, passed away Tuesday morning, June 19th at the Syracuse Veterans Administration Hospital where he had been a patient for 4 months.
The funeral mass will be 10 am Friday, June 22nd at St. Pauls Catholic Church, Black River, with Rev. Garvin Demarais officiating. Burial will follow in Black River Cemetery with military honors. Calling hours are Thursday, June 21st from 4:30 - 6:30 pm at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home. Contributions may be made to St. Pauls Catholic Church, Black River.
Martin was born in Watertown, April 27, 1957, a son to Herbert and Kathleen Putman Greene. He graduated from Carthage Central School in 1976, receiving a certification in the welding program at the Jefferson Vocational Technical Center. He served in the US Army from August of 1976 until he was honorably discharged in August of 1980. Martin worked for the New York National Guard Fort Drum and later with the US Army Reserves, as a welder. Martin received an A.A.S degree from Jefferson Community College in 1998 in Computer Science.
Martin is survived by his parents, Herbert and Kathleen Greene of Black River. Four brothers, William Greene, Felts Mills; Daniel (Shirley) Greene, Black River; Matthew (Cathy) Greene, Buffalo; Eric (Lorie) Greene, Carthage. many nieces and nephews.
