ADAMS — The village Board of Trustees has authorized Mayor Patricia A. Sweetland to present an offer to a resident to purchase property that would lead to the development of a new test well. The motion, approved unanimously June 12, did not specify the amount of money allocated or which property the village would attempt to purchase. After the meeting, Mrs. Sweetland declined to provide specifics about the deal.

The board also agreed to supply the village’s tree committee with $8,000 in cash and in-kind services to support a $16,000 project to plant 62 trees around the village. Board members also supported the replacement of the tree behind the village offices with a new tree, which in five or six years would supplant the tree in front of the building for Christmas celebrations.

The board also agreed to fund four $55 neighborhood watch signs.
