HARRISVILLE — Soup, salt and vinegar were flying in a motel room here Thursday night while a man and woman fought because they had no more cigarettes, according to state police.

Orhan R. Kizilelma, 35, who lives in a room at Hunter’s Moon Motel, 8268 Route 3, town of Diana, smoked the last three cigarettes, which upset his girlfriend, Kara A. Hall, 20, Whitesboro, police said. They doused one another with the substances, and Mr. Kizilelma grabbed the woman by her arm while she was punching him on the head, police said.

The fight was occurring in the presence of Ms. Hall’s 2-year-old son, troopers reported. Police cited both adults with endangering the welfare of a child, and ordered them to appear at a later date in Diana Town Court.
