POTSDAM – As a service to the community, Canton-Potsdam Hospital has unveiled its new Speakers Bureau an opportunity for local groups and organizations to enlist CPH staff members to address their membership at meetings and special events free of charge.
Members of the CPH Speakers Bureau are experts in their field: talented public speakers with a passion for their profession and a commitment to community outreach and engagement. They include physicians and allied health professionals, nursing staff and other professional staff members from across the organization.
We believe our relationship with the community should include a regular, consistent and personal dialogue, driven by the needs of those we serve, according to David Acker, president and CEO. The Speakers Bureau joins a host of outreach vehicles already in place that help us to achieve that dialogue.
A sampling of available topic areas includes:
■ Behavioral Health
■ Breast Cancer Support Group
■ Cancer Screenings
■ Cancer Services (General)
■ Diabetes (Prevention and Treatment)
■ Exercise and Sleep (Teen Audiences)
■ Fibromyalgia/Chronic Pain
■ General Health Topics
■ Health Care Proxies/Advance Directives
■ Lifeline Services
■ NutritionGeneral
■ Ophthalmology
■ Taking Control of Your Health
■ Volunteer Services
■ Walking Club
This list continues to evolve as additional speakers and topic areas are expected to be added regularly.
An informational brochure is being mailed this week to non-profit, fraternal and service organizations throughout St. Lawrence County.
Speakers are provided at no charge.
Groups are asked to contact CPH at least one month in advance of a scheduled meeting in order to allow sufficient time for planning.
To schedule a speaker or request a brochure, contact Tracy Jarvis, administrative assistant in the Corporate Communications office, at 315-261-5401 or email tjarvis@cphospital.org.
