A Watertown woman was sentenced Wednesday in Jefferson County Court to 2½ years in state prison for twice trying to sell cocaine within the county.

Kimberly N. Lashure, 24, of 608 Academy St., was sentenced for May 14 guilty pleas to two counts of third-degree attempted criminal sale of a controlled substance. She admitted that she tried to sell cocaine Aug. 10 and Jan. 16.

She was sentenced as a second felony offender, having been sentenced in County Court in June 2009 to 1½ years in prison for third-degree attempted criminal sale of a controlled substance, accused of trying to sell heroin. She also has charges pending in City Court stemming from a March 14 incident in which it is alleged that her pit bull attacked a dachshund belonging to Brian A. King at his Nellis Street home. The incident ended with Mr. King stabbing Miss Lashure’s dog to death.

Miss Lashure was charged with two counts of causing damage to personal property and one count each of having a dog at large and owning a dog without a license. The case is on today’s City Court calendar.

In other court activity:

Peter P. Scott, 22, an inmate at Cayuga Correctional Facility, was sentenced as a second-felony offender to an additional 1½ to 3 years in prison for a March 26 guilty plea to first-degree attempted promoting prison contraband. He admitted that while incarcerated at Cape Vincent Correctional Facility on Nov. 19, he tried to possess a metal can lid and a padlock in a sock. He is serving a four-year prison term imposed in Broome County in March 2009 for first-degree attempted robbery, according to the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision website.

Matthew W. Ottman, 22, Cato, formerly of Clayton, was sentenced to three years’ probation and ordered to pay $200 in restitution for an April 16 guilty plea to petit larceny. He had been accused of taking items from the former Wilcox Hardware store in Theresa sometime in either August 2010 or September 2010. His probation supervision will be transferred to Cayuga County.

Lloyd Clarke, 27, Fort Drum, was sentenced to three years’ probation for April 25 guilty pleas to fourth-degree criminal mischief and third-degree assault as a result of separate incidents. He admitted that on Dec. 4, 2010, he damaged a window, bookshelf and bathtub at the village of Philadelphia apartment of Tanya Johnson. He also admitted that on Nov. 9, he caused physical injury to Ms. Johnson. According to police, Mr. Clarke confronted Ms. Johnson in November in an attempt to discourage her from reporting his activities to the Probation Department or district attorney’s office. Ms. Johnson also was to be a witness against him at grand jury proceedings investigating the December 2010 incident.

Michael A. McLean, 27, Watertown, pleaded guilty to third-degree attempted criminal sale of a controlled substance. He admitted that he tried to sell heroin Jan. 16 at his residence at 415 Gotham St., Apt. 4. He is expected to be sentenced July 16 to 3½ years in prison, followed by two additional years of post-release supervision. It will be mandated that he serve his sentence in the prison system’s Willard Drug Rehabilitation Program. If an inmate completes the 90-day program, he serves the remainder of his sentence under parole supervision.

Daniel P. Olley, 46, of 4679 County Route 289, Ellisburg, pleaded guilty to forcible touching. He admitted that on July 14 in the town of Ellisburg he subjected a 28-year-old woman to unwanted sexual contact. He is expected to be sentenced Aug. 21 to six years’ probation and be ordered to register with the state as a sex offender.

Trevor D. Carpenter, 21, of 29545 N. Martin Road, Evans Mills, was arraigned as a fugitive from Lonoke County, Ark., where he is wanted on a violation of probation warrant. He agreed to waive his extradition rights and to be returned to Arkansas to face the charge there.
