A Watertown man was jailed under $2,000 bail Sunday night after he allegedly attempted to grab money from a cash register in the Subway shop at Salmon Run Mall.
Leonard G. Works, 22, of 1210 Superior St., Apt. C8, was arrested by Jefferson County sheriffs deputies Sunday evening on charges of attempted third-degree robbery, fourth-degree criminal mischief, endangering the welfare of a child and harassment. Hounsfield Town Justice Gary A. Loomis set bail, sending him to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building.
Deputies said Mr. Works shoved Destiny M. Dingle, shop manager, when she attempted twice to prevent him from grabbing money from the cash drawer. Ms. Dingle was pushed in front of a 2-year-old girl, deputies said.
During the confrontation, some shop belongings were damaged, according to the sheriffs office.
