CARTHAGE — William J. Houston, 48, of 600 S. Washington St., was injured early Monday when he struck a deer while motorcycling on Route 3 in the town of Wilna, near County Route 37, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department.

Mr. Houston was treated at Carthage Area Hospital for multiple complaints of pain.

The deer was killed, deputies said.
