LOWVILLE A Castorland man was sentenced Wednesday in Lewis County Court over the theft of a few chain saws.
Timmy E. Smith, 40, of 5131 Climax St., was sentenced to three years probation, $597.21 restitution and 50 hours of community service on a charge of petit larceny, to which he pleaded guilty March 30.
Mr. Smith was accused of stealing three Stihl chain saws belonging to Edward Yancey on Nov. 15 in the town of Lowville.
Also on Wednesday in Lewis County Court:
Brandon M. Hull, 20, Barnes Settlement Road, Redwood, had sentencing in his case of fourth-degree criminal mischief adjourned to June 22. He pleaded guilty to the charge March 23.
Mr. Hull was accused of damaging a wooden entrance door and window belonging to Ellen Sullivan on Jan. 21 in the town of Leyden.
Samson M. Watkins, 34, of 6820 McAlpine St., Lyons Falls, had his case of six counts apiece of first- and second-degree sexual abuse and a single count of endangering the welfare of a child adjourned to July 27, with a possible trial date set for Aug. 27.
He was accused of having forcible sexual relations with a girl under the age of 14 on Jan. 28 in the town of Turin.
Tyler D. Collins, 18, of 1029 Bronson St., Watertown, had his case of three counts of third-degree burglary, two counts of second-degree criminal mischief and single counts of fourth-degree arson, fourth-degree criminal mischief and petit larceny adjourned to July 27.
Mr. Collins was accused of, on Jan. 13 and 14, breaking into two seasonal camps and Ziggys Bar and Restaurant, all on South Shore Road in the town of Diana, causing damage, stealing various items and setting fire to one of the camps.
Michael E. Enslow, 34, of 5656 Maple Ave., had sentencing on a charge of second-degree strangulation adjourned to June 15. He was accused in connection with a July 8 assault on Lori Snyder in the town of Martinsburg.
