LOWVILLE The Lowville Academy and Central School District superintendent search is down to two finalists after one withdrew his name from consideration.
Rick T. Moore, superintendent of Belleville Henderson Central School District, has indicated by letter that the time is not right for a change, citing several ongoing initiatives at his current district, according to Jack J. Boak, district superintendent of the Jefferson-Lewis Board of Cooperative Educational Services.
The Board of Education tonight plans to re-interview the other finalists Joanne I. Shelmidine, superintendent of Remsen Central School District in Oneida County, and Paul W. Mooney, principal of Howard G. Sackett Technical Center in Glenfield before deciding how to proceed, said Mr. Boak, who is assisting in the search to replace retiring Superintendent Kenneth J. McAuliffe.
