The owner of the small strip plaza on Outer Arsenal Street plans to revamp marketing efforts for the space that has sat vacant since it was built about five years ago.
Alexandria Bay developer Philip J. Simao said Tuesday that he has had the 13,500-square-foot plaza, in front of the Walmart super center, cleaned up because he is ready to start looking for tenants, adding that he does not have any lined up so far.
Just doing some spring cleaning, nothing more, Mr. Simao said.
Town of Watertown officials recently gave him a temporary water hook-up so the developer could spruce up the property.
Under the corporate name Toped Development LLC, the five vacant storefronts and acre parcel is assessed at $867,500.
Mr. Simao sued the state in 2007, claiming he lost revenue from the plaza after the Department of Transportation took some of his land under eminent domain when it widened Route 3.
Before the state widened the road, the developer planned to construct a larger plaza on the site.
