MORRISTOWN - Morristown Central Schools $8,572,442 budget for 2012-13 was approved Tuesday by a 153-91 vote.
The budget represents a $60,586 spending decrease from the current $8,633,028 budget, and carries a tax levy increase of 2.92 percent, from $3,247,066 to $3,341,916.
Four new members were elected to the board of education, including Cyril H. Junior Aldrich Jr., with 155 votes, and Mark R. Tayler, with 106. Write-in candidates accepting the other two board openings, according to district officials, are James R. Michaels, with 30 votes, and Mary Anne Bailey, with 27.
The three gentlemen will serve full, five-year terms, while Mrs. Bailey will fill a one-year seat vacated earlier this year by Kimberly A. Marshall.
