Miles Sexton went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs as the Immaculate Heart Central baseball team defeated Sackets Harbor, 4-2, in the championship game of the IHC Dick Kobel Memorial Tournament on Saturday.
Shane Garrabrant went 2-for-2 for the Cavaliers (7-5 overall) in their 6-5 first-round victory over Alexandria. Garrabrant was selected as the tournaments most valuable player.
Zach DAlessandro provided four hits in the championship for Sackets Harbor (13-3), which beat Harrisville in the opening round.
ALEXANDRIA 14, HARRISVILLE 2
Gannon Beach knocked in four runs and went 3-for-4 with a home run and a double to lead the Purple Ghosts past the Pirates (4-10) in the five-inning consolation game of the IHC Dick Kobel Memorial Tournament.
Tyler Edgar hit a two-run home run for Alexandria (5-9).
WATERTOWN 13-15, INDIAN RIVER 2-1
Dustin Pond drove in five runs on five hits overall, including a pair of triples, as the Cyclones swept a Frontier League A Division doubleheader with the Warriors at Jefferson Community College.
Josh Belch finished the afternoon 4-for-7 with a home run, a double, and six RBIs for Watertown (12-4, 9-0). Kyle Simmons went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple and three RBIs in game one, and Ryan Bajjaly was 4-for-5 with a double, a triple and four RBIs in game two for the Cyclones.
Edward Malinoski provided a double and a single in game one for Indian River (3-8, 2-8).
SOUTH JEFFERSON 3, GENERAL BROWN 2
Mitchell Modlin threw a complete game with 10 strikeouts to lead the Spartans past the Lions in a B Division game at Dexter.
Modlin also hit a solo home run for South Jefferson (6-7, 5-5).
Jordan Delaney struck out six in a complete game for General Brown (4-8, 4-7).
GENERAL BROWN 8, BEAVER RIVER 1
Jordan Delaney went 4-for-4 with two RBIs in the Lions crossover victory at Beaver Falls.
Nolan Pitkin pitched a complete game for the win and also drove in two runs on two hits for General Brown (5-8, 5-7).
BEAVER RIVER 7, APW 0
Sam Widrick struck out 13 in a complete-game shutout to power the Beavers to a crossover win over the Rebels at Parish.
Justin Bush provided a triple, a single and two RBIs, while Erik Lyndaker and Brandon Widrick each went 2-for-3 with a double for Beaver River (9-5).
Altmar-Parish-Williamstown dropped to 4-10, 3-9.
