LOWVILLE — A workshop on bird conservation options will be offered to Tug Hill landowners.

The free session, sponsored by Audubon New York and similar to one held in Constableville last fall, is slated to run from 9 to 11:30 a.m. May 19 at the state Department of Environmental Conservation field office at 7327 Route 812.

It will provide information on wildlife commonly found in forests of the Tug Hill region and resources, tools and potential partners available to help families plan for the future of their woodlands with regard to wildlife management.

The workshop will be followed by a woods walk from 1 to 3 p.m. to tour properties where different kinds of forest management have resulted in different types of habitats.

Preregistration by May 15 is required by calling Jillian Liner at 1 (607) 254-2437 or by emailing her at jliner@audubon.org.
