Esther Davis, 94, formerly of 1009 Harrison St., Watertown, NY, died peacefully May 2, at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady, NY.
She was born June 22, 1917, in Syracuse, NY, the daughter of Samuel and Sarah Cohen Wallins. The family moved to Watertown where she graduated from Watertown High School. On May 15, 1941 she married her life long partner, Harold I. Davis. Together they participated in the ownership and operation of Watertown Main Auto Parts until their retirement in 1996.
Esther was predeceased by her husband on June 3, 2002. She is survived by two sons, Andrew and his wife Leah Cohn of Naples, Florida, and Robert Davis of Albany, NY; 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; and a special niece, Barbara Warner, and her family; and a countless number of friends.
Esther Davis was a loving wife and mother. She had the gift to make each person she met feel special, always making time to listen with kindness and understanding. She provided a model of a life well lived.
In lieu of flowers donation may be given in her memory to a charity of ones choice.
The funeral service will be held at the Cleveland Funeral Home, Watertown, Sunday, May 6, at 12:00 noon, with burial in Degel Israel Cemetery to follow. There will be no calling hours.
