The Hounsfield Town Council has selected W.D. Malone Trucking & Excavating, Hannibal, to complete the pipeline work for its Water District 5. The council approved the $3,638,340 contract at its meeting Wednesday night.

Electrical work for the project will be done by 34 & Co., Watertown, for $77,300.

The council also held a moment of silence for Edward E. Cobb, who died March 20. Mr. Cobb was town supervisor from 1963 to 1993.

The town approved an agreement with the town of Adams to jointly purchase a bucket truck. Hounsfield will contribute $5,000 and commit to the first $2,000 in repairs, while Adams will pay approximately $7,000.

The council also approved a payment-in-lieu-of-taxes agreement for the Madison Barracks development in Sackets Harbor.
