Beef production seminars will be offered this week

Northern New York will host four days of seminars on beef production. Topics include business decision-making, loans and financing and production needs.

Cornell University beef specialist Mike Baker will discuss research on cost and production factors that show that 82 percent of farm-to-farm variations are a result of labor and management differences on 225 beef farms in Illinois and Iowa.

The programs will run at 6:30 p.m. today at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Jefferson County, Watertown, with registration at 788-8450; at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the extension office in Clinton County, Plattsburgh, with registration at 1 (518) 561-7450; at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at North Country Community College, Malone, with registration at 1 (518) 483-7403 and at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the extension Learning Farm, Canton, with registration at 379-9192.
