CANTON — Michelle Ng played a role in all three goals as the St. Lawrence University women's hockey team won its third straight game, defeating Rensselaer 3-1 in an ECAC Hockey game Saturday at Appleton Arena.

Ng finished with one goal and two assists for the Saints (14-9-7 overall, 10-5-3 conference). Kelly Sabatine and Kayla Sullivan also scored. Sierra Vadner scored for RPI (12-11-6, 9-5-4).

CLARKSON 3, UNION 0

Gabrielle Kosziwka scored twice for the Golden Knights in an ECAC Hockey win against Union (5-24-1, 1-16-1) at Cheel Arena.

Carlee Eusepi also scored for Clarkson (20-7-3, 14-3-1), and Lauren Dahm made 14 saves for the shutout.

MEN'S BASKETBALL

CLARKSON 75, VASSAR 60

Elson Pickering scored 18 points and Brandon Linton tossed in 16 to lead the Golden Knights (11-9, 5-5) past Vassar in a Liberty League game in Poughkeepsie.

Rey Jefferson scored 15 points and Felix Llanos tallied 10 for Clarkson. Caleb McGraw led Vassar (2-18, 0-9) with 16 points and Ethan Shanley added 11.

RENSSELAER 66, ST. LAWRENCE 61

Tim Rupp and Travis Jones each scored 14 points as RPI (13-6, 5-4) edged the Saints in a Liberty League game in Troy. Nick Meunier scored 16 points and Josh Sharlow tossed in 15 for SLU (11-10, 7-3).

SUNY FREDONIA 58,

SUNY POTSDAM 53

Julius Bryan led Fredonia (13-7) with 20 points in a SUNYAC win against the Bears in Potsdam. Anthony Williams scored 15 for the Bears (3-16) and Joshua Lambert tossed in 13.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

SUNY POTSDAM 59,

SUNY FREDONIA 53

Cortney Poirier scored 20 points to lead the Bears (7-13) past SUNY Fredonia in a SUNYAC game in Potsdam. Brittany Whitton added 19 for SUNY Potsdam and Rachel Graf tallied 13.

Katie Landy scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for SUNY Fredonia (10-9).

ST. LAWRENCE 62, RENSSELAER 38

Casey Cappello tossed in 24 points for the Saints (14-6, 6-4) in a Liberty League win over Rensselaer in Troy. Katherine Edgerton added 15 points and nine rebounds for SLU. Allison Connor scored 11 to lead RPI (12-8, 7-2).

CLARKSON 60, VASSAR 49

Lauren Pluchino's 21 points led the Golden Knights (5-15, 2-8) past Vassar in a Liberty League contest in Poughkeepsie. Carey Turner tossed in 19 for Clarkson. Emily Hauser led Vassar (7-12, 3-6) with 14 points.

FINGER LAKES CC 77,

JEFFERSON CC 68

Katrina Davenport collected nine rebounds and scored 20 points to lead the Lakers past the Cannoneers in a Mid-State Athletic Conference game in Canandaigua.

Shakista Woolfolk recorded a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds for Finger Lakes Community College.

Nicole Perry scored 22 points, including six 3-point baskets, while Tara Gervera snagged 16 rebounds for Jefferson CC (10-14, 4-6).

INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD

JONES QUALIFIES FOR NCAA

SLU's Eric Jones finished second in the weight throw with a distance of 61 feet, 6 3/4 inches to finish second at the Syracuse Invitational. He also met the NCAA Division III Championship automatic qualification with his toss.

NORDIC SKIING

SAINTS TRIO IN TOP 10

SLU seniors Eric Wolcott, Zach Wetherell and Ben Knowles each earned top-10 finishes to help the Saints finish third as a team at the University of Vermont Carnival in Stowe, Vt. The SLU women finished in 10th place.

ALPINE SKIING

IRWIN, ROBBINS SET CAREER MARKS

SLU sophomore Mackenzie Irwin and junior Heidi Robbins each had career-best finishes in the slalom at the University of Vermont Carnival in Stowe, Vt. Irwin finished in 16th place and Robbins was in 18th. The team had a sixth-place finish. SLU's men finished in ninth.

LEBLANC LEADS CLARKSON

Clarkson's Sophie LeBlanc finished first in the giant slalom followed by teammates Jill Clevenger and Meghan Cleason as the Golden Knights took the team lead on the first day of the West Point Invitational in Fabius.
