CANTON — St. Lawrence University hired two assistant coaches Friday, including former South Jefferson standout Lauren Sischo, who graduated from the school in May.

Sischo will join the women's basketball coaching staff under new head coach Dan Roiger. She played basketball and women's soccer at SLU and was the team captain last season as the program made its third straight NCAA Division III Tournament appearance.

Also hired Friday was Emily Johnson to work with Franco Bari on the women's soccer staff. Johnson was an All-American and a member of the 1991 NCAA Division III champion Ithaca College squad. She most recently was an assistant at Guilford College in North Carolina, where she primarily served as the goalkeeping coach.
