A LaFargeville man faces a 105-count indictment alleging that he repeatedly sexually abused a teenager and threatened to kill her if she told anyone about it.
Shane E. Mathous, 44, of 35527 Smith Road, faces a single count of first-degree rape, 15 counts of second-degree rape, 76 counts of third-degree rape, five counts each of first-degree coercion and third-degree sexual abuse and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
The charges were contained in a grand jury indictment handed up Wednesday in Jefferson County Court.
It is alleged that during 2007 and 2008, Mathous repeatedly engaged in sexual intercourse and other sexual conduct with a girl while she was 14, 15 and 16. He is charged with coercion for allegedly threatening to kill the victim and her mother if the girl reported the conduct to anyone.
He is charged with endangering the child's welfare by providing her with alcohol and marijuana between April 2007 and March of this year. It also is alleged that he shoved her against a refrigerator in June 2008.
