I would like to say thank you to Dave Renzi for proposing Erin's Law, a much-needed law that would put these very sick individuals, both male and female, who prey on babies, little children and big children behind bars for many years.

In 1984, I worked for a Child Abuse and Neglect agency in the South and the TV movie "Something about Amelia" aired, and wow did we ever get phone calls as our Hotline number was across the bottom of the screen.

Nobody talked much about abuse back then, especially sexual abuse, but I remember one statistic that was always mentioned: if it is not happening in your house, it is happening next door or someplace on your block. Now that was scary. Then along came the Internet which is such a great thing, but also evil in the hands of sick minds. By law every person who suspects abuse is obligated to make a report, but still people do not want to get involved so they close their eyes and go on by.

Every citizen needs to get behind Dave and vote, along with all the other things he plans to do; Erin's Law is one of the very most important. These are our kids, folks. Let's let Dave help us protect them. It shouldn't hurt to be a child.
