Sunday will be a day to honor members of the 479th Engineer Battalion, the U.S. Army Reserve unit based in Watertown.
A Welcome Home Warrior Citizen ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic School on South Massey Street, Watertown.
Each soldier will receive an award at the ceremony — an encased American flag, a commemorative coin and a lapel pin. Spouses of the soldiers will also be honored.
The 479th returned in July from a 12 month deployment in Iraq, where they served under the 3rd Infantry Division and the 10th Mountain Division in Baghdad. They did clearance on highways, helped with construction on patrol bases and took other engineering missions.
