Panel tonight to provide wind power information

CHAUMONT — There will be a wind power information session from 7 to 9 tonight at the Lyme Central School auditorium. Speakers will be Keith D. Pitman, president and chief executive officer of Empire State Wind Energy; John Droz, scientist and environmental activist from Brantingham Lake; and Charles E. Ebbing, a retired acoustic engineer from Carrier Corp.

During a question-and-answer time, a panel will include Ralph Janicki, a Cape Vincent cardiologist; Gerald A. Smith, an ornithologist; and Peter J. Rogers, an assessor.

Responsible Citizens for Safe Renewable Wind Energy of Jefferson County, a collection of several wind information groups, is sponsoring the session and will have information booths, as well.
