The Greater Watertown-North Country Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for the 18th annual Athena Award. The deadline is Aug. 8.

The award is presented to a person who is recognized for professional excellence, for providing valuable service to the community and for actively assisting women in realizing their full leadership potential.

The award recipient will be announced at a press conference at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 12 at Flower Memorial Library, 229 Washington St. The recipient will be presented with the award at the chamber's fall dinner Sept. 18 at Bonnie Castle Resort, Alexandria Bay.
