Five motorists facing charges of driving while intoxicated
SATURDAY, JULY 19, 2008

The following are charged with driving while intoxicated and related offenses:

■ Derrick S. Cooper, 24, South Shore, Ky., was charged by Potsdam village police Friday on Maple Street. Police said he was speeding and swerving, and then resisted arrest when he was stopped at 2:28 a.m.

He also was charged with failure to keep right, not wearing a seat belt, drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle, speeding, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and resisting arrest. He was taken to St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, in lieu of $10,000 bail.

■ Casey M. Robertson, 39, of 170 St. Lawrence Ave., Waddington, was charged by state police Wednesday with aggravated DWI. He was stopped on Canton Street in Ogdensburg.

He had a blood alcohol content of 0.20 percent, police said. A BAC level of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication under state law. Aggravated DWI is charged when the BAC is 0.18 percent or more. He also was charged with failure to keep right and making an improper turn.

■ Terry L. Manchester, 49, of 1898 Harwood Drive, Sandy Creek, was pulled over by state police Thursday night along Route 13 in Albion. Police said his BAC was 0.09 percent. He additionally was cited with failure to use his turn signal.

■ Kisa M. Kinnard, 33, of 324 Academy St., Apt. A1, Watertown, was stopped at 1:51 a.m. Friday on the 300 block of Academy Street. Her BAC was 0.12 percent, city police said. She additionally was charged with failure to keep right.

■ William J. Kiblin, 58, Ellisburg, was stopped by state police at 1:58 a.m. Friday along Black River Parkway in the city of Watertown for an unspecified reason. His BAC was 0.12 percent, police said.
