SACKETS HARBOR — The Sackets Harbor Battlefield State Historic Site will host the War of 1812 weekend Aug. 2 and 3. The event includes history re-enactors.

Visitors can see camp life, learn about military traditions, watch the bateaux, which are flat-bottomed boats, in a mock battle, enjoy games and toys of the early 1800s and shop for period merchandise.
