Disappointed by air show coverage
WEDNESDAY, JULY 16, 2008

It saddens me that after all the time and effort put into the planning, all the physical labor and extra work hours to present the concert and air show at Fort Drum to the general public, that our local media only gave 30 seconds (perhaps I counted in double time) let's say 15 seconds to promote this excellent show.

I know for a fact this had been in the planning stage since 2007, and that during the last few weeks some individuals worked 16 to 18 hours a day preparing for this event.

Yes the show on Saturday was rained upon, but Sunday the weather was sensational, and the aerobatics were phenomenal, and all for free.

I used to drive to Syracuse and pay $50 for elite seats to see their air show, and I can guarantee you this show was as good, if not better, than Syracuse ever had. Those who did not attend missed some fantastic planes and demonstrations that they will now have to wait another year to see.

To all those who made this show possible, I am eagerly awaiting next year's event.
