CLAYTON — Douglas Kirkbride of Beaver Falls finished third as one of the top boaters at the Wal-Mart Bass Fishing League Empire Division tournament Saturday on the Thousand Islands.

Kirkbride claimed a five-bass catch weighing 17 pounds, five ounces in the boater division. He earned $767 for the catch.

Mike Neilson, a native of Markham, Ontario, won the tournament with a five-bass catch of 18 pounds, three ounces, and he collected $2,795 with the victory.
