RANSOMVILLE — Unadilla's Billy Decker dominated the Firecracker 100 Thursday night at the Ransomville Speedway. The veteran big-block driver won the race by 15 car lengths over Ransomville regular Robbie Krull of Cambria. Decker also recorded the fastest time during the time trials, and he won his heat race. It was Decker's second straight win on the Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series.
Following Krull across the finish line was Alan Johnson of Middlesex, Stewart Friesen of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, and Todd Burley of Spencerport. Pat O'Brien of Kingston, Ontario, was 23rd, while Frankie Caprara of Watertown was 25th. Billy Dunn of Watertown finished last in the 30-car starting field.
The series begins a six-race tour beginning Thursday at the Brockville (Ontario) Speedway and finishes on July 17 at the Georgetown (Del.) Speedway.
