Lockport woman enters plea of guilty to having pot in car
WEDNESDAY, MAY 21, 2008

A Lockport woman pleaded guilty Tuesday in Jefferson County Court to a charge that she had more than 4 pounds of marijuana in her vehicle's trunk at the Wellesley Island port of entry.

Jodi L. Green pleaded guilty to fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana. Sentencing was set for July 25.

She was accused of having the marijuana shipment in her vehicle April 29 after state police found 41/2 pounds of the drug hidden in her trunk.

In connection with the same incident, Clifton A. Jackson, 39, formerly of Buffalo, but who is now incarcerated in a federal prison in Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty Tuesday to second-degree criminal possession of marijuana.

It had been alleged he was waiting in an Alexandria Bay motel room for Miss Green to deliver the marijuana to him. He was accused in a grand jury indictment of forcing Miss Green to participate in the marijuana shipment conspiracy by instilling fear in her that he would physically injure her or her children if she did not comply with his demands.
