Gouverneur man sues over ATV crash

CANTON — A Gouverneur man who was injured when the all-terrain vehicle he was riding on overturned has filed a lawsuit against the machine's owner, its operator and her parents, and the town of DeKalb.

Filed in state Supreme Court, the negligence action was brought by Vaughn A. Cunningham. It is against Daniel I. Cole, 10 Ridge St., DeKalb; Lindsey Stiles and her parents, David and Angela Stiles, 6 Second St., DeKalb, and the town.

Mr. Cunningham suffered hand and other injuries on April 22, 2007, while riding on a Yamaha ATV owned by Mr. Cole and operated by Lindsey Stiles. It overturned when it hit a deep hole while making a left turn from Ridge Street onto Second Street.

The lawsuit, filed by attorney Henry J. Leader, Gouverneur, seeks unspecified damages.
