Wiley pitches no-hitter
SECOND OF SEASON: TI hurler strikes out 14; Carthage clinches title

COPENHAGEN — Thousand Islands' Jessica Wiley tossed her second no-hitter of the Frontier League softball season Wednesday, holding Copenhagen hitless during a 7-0 crossover victory.

Wiley struck out 14 and walked six. She also finished 2-for-4 at the plate with two triples and drove in four runs for the Vikings (12-1 overall, 11-1 league).

Copenhagen fell to 3-12, 3-9.

CARTHAGE 5, WATERTOWN 4

Katie Jones recorded 12 strikeouts as the Comets clinched the regular season "A" Division title with a narrow victory at the Alex T. Duffy Fairgrounds.

Jones also helped on offense, finishing 2-for-3. Sarah Johnson added two hits and an RBI for Carthage (8-7, 6-3).

Brittany Patenaude led Watertown (3-13, 2-6) with two hits, including a homer, and three RBIs. Jennifer Jones provided two hits for the Cyclones.

INDIAN RIVER 8, IHC 4

Melanie Hayes smacked a key two-run double in the third as the Warriors won an "A" Division game at Philadelphia.

Felicia French drove in four runs on two hits, and Kwanisha Jones contributed three hits for Indian River (7-11, 3-6).

Taylor Upton had two hits and two RBIs for the Cavaliers (3-10, 0-8).

SOUTH LEWIS 10, APW 1

Heather McManus slugged a three-run home run as the Falcons breezed to a crossover win at Turin.

Ashley Emerson, Mackenzie Colwell and Jenna Kraeger each finished 2-for-3 for South Lewis (11-8, 9-4).

The Rebels (7-8, 5-7) scored their only run in the fourth.

SACKETS HARBOR 4, ALEXANDRIA 0

Helena Brenner and Jessica Nappi each provided two hits, including a double, to help the Patriots to a "D" Division win at Sackets Harbor.

Dana Gorman chipped in a triple, while Shawnee Rice struck out eight for Sackets Harbor (11-7, 9-3), which clinched a share of first place in the division.

The Purple Ghosts fell to 6-8, 5-7.

LAFARGEVILLE 7-18, LYME 2-0

Alyssa Williams hit a triple in both games, and finished 3-for-4 with three RBIs in game 2 as the Red Knights swept a "D" Division doubleheader at Chaumont.

Brittany Marriam also went 3-for-4 with a triple in the second game as LaFargeville (9-5, 7-5) banged out 17 hits in five innings. Rachel Klock went 2-for-3 and drove in three runs for the Red Knights in game 1.

Mariah Wallace was 2-for-2 for Lyme (0-13) during game 2.

HEUVELTON 2, HERMON-DEKALB 0

The Bulldogs scored twice in the top of the seventh inning to take the lead and win in a West Division game in DeKalb Junction.

Megan Johnson scored on a sacrifice bunt from Heather Johnson. Kara Leonard then drove in Johnson for the insurance run for Heuvelton (9-5, 7-3). Heather Johnson earned the win, striking out 15 batters for the Bulldogs.

Jess Austin picked up the only hit for the Demons (5-9, 5-7).

HAMMOND 16, MORRISTOWN 2

Brittany Kenyon tallied four singles and the Red Devils scored nine runs in the bottom of the first to take control of a West Division game in Hammond.

Jessica Measheaw earned the win, striking out three batters. She added three hits at the plate for Hammond (8-2).

Meghan Kanaly had two hits for Morristown (3-13, 2-9).

LISBON 15, CLIFTON-FINE 5

Mackenzie Walker struck out seven in a strong West Division outing for the Golden Knights in Star Lake.

Tory Lemke smacked a triple and a single while Marcy Adams collected three hits to lead Lisbon (8-7, 7-2).

Olivia Langevin had two hits, including a double, for Clifton-Fine (0-9).

EDWARDS-KNOX 11, HARRISVILLE 3

Miranda Typhair drove in three runs and highlighted the West Division game with a home run for the Cougars in Edwards.

Typhair also pitched the win and struck out seven batters. Raven Reese knocked in a pair of runs for Edwards-Knox (11-3, 10-1).

Katelyn Hart had a single and an RBI for Harrisville (3-7).
