The ninth annual Tug Hill Bird Quest will be May 31 and June 1 as a fundraiser for Tug Hill Tomorrow Land Trust.
The trust will introduce a field trip in each of Jefferson, Lewis and Oswego counties on May 31. Children will learn about birding and how to identify birds at 10 a.m. May 31 at the New York State Zoo at Thompson Park.
Volunteers can record the species they observe at their feeders throughout the week of May 25 to 31. In the 24-hour Birdathon, birders form teams and collect pledges from sponsors, based on the number of bird species they spot. To register, call Carol at the Tug Hill Tomorrow Land Trust, 779-2239.
