David and Gayla Ortlieb, Route 26, Martinsburg, and Roger and Bonnie Smith, 6050 John St., Constableville, announce the engagement of their children, Michelle Lee Ortlieb and Jason Lee Smith, both of 4675 Kraeger Road, Constableville.

Miss Ortlieb is a 1999 graduate of South Lewis Central School, Turin, and received a bachelor's degree in education in 2003 from SUNY Oneonta. She graduated from the University of New England, Biddeford, Maine, this year with a master's degree in literacy and is employed at Griffiss Child Development Center, Rome.

Mr. Smith is a 1993 graduate of South Lewis Central and is employed at the Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Management Authority, Ava.

A Sept. 13 wedding is planned.
