DEKALB JUNCTION — Miranda Typhair picked up two wins in back-to-back complete games as the Edwards-Knox softball team earned a pair of Northern Athletic Conference West Division triumphs over Hermon-DeKalb on Thursday.
The Cougars won, 9-3, in the first game, before coming back for a 12-1 victory in the closing game.
Typhair struck out 18 total batters in 12 innings for Edwards-Knox (8-1 overall, 7-0 league). Anna Hawn had three RBIs for the Cougars.
Natasha Sayer collected three hits over the two games for Hermon-DeKalb (5-7, 5-5).
HAMMOND 9-10, HARRISVILLE 1-5
Jess Measheaw pitched two complete games and won them both in a West Division doubleheader in Hammond.
Measheaw struck out seven in game on and two in the second for Hammond (6-1). Alyssa Crosby collected three hits over the two games to lead the Red Devils.
Katie French scored once and had three hits on the day for Harrisville (2-6).
MORRISTOWN 28, CLIFTON-FINE 9
The Green Rockets collected 20 hits and dominated a West Division game over the Eagles in Morristown.
Sarah LaBarge and Macy VanArnam each had three singles for Morristown (3-9, 2-7).
Jordan Sullivan and Elizabeth Meeks had two hits each for Clifton-Fine (0-7).
LISBON 12, HEUVELTON 8
Jen Lassial provided two key hits, including a two-run triple, to help lift the Golden Knights past the Bulldogs in a West Division game at Lisbon.
Chelsea James and Jackie LaFave each had a pair of singles for the Golden Knights (5-1).
Megan Johnson, Cassie Fobare and Chelsea Bice combined for six hits for Heuvelton (6-4, 5-3).
GOUVERNEUR 11, POTSDAM 4
Holly Weaver struck out five batters en route to a Central Division triumph over the Sandstoners at Potsdam.
The Wildcats earned just their second win of the season thanks, in part, to Lacy Redman's 2-for-4 night. Emily Jackson added one hit and scored three times for Gouverneur (2-4).
Monique Cornett went 2-for-4 for Potsdam (3-7, 2-6).
CHATEAUGAY 6,
MADRID-WADDINGTON 5
Chelsea Ouimet went 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI out of the No. 9 slot in the order to help lift the Bulldogs to an East Division win over the Yellow Jackets in Madrid.
Lindsey Legacy had a single and an RBI for Chateaugay (6-3).
Ashley Beldock hit a bases-clearing triple as part of a four-RBI night for Madrid-Waddington (4-5, 3-4).
ST. LAWRENCE 8, ST. REGIS FALLS 1
Nikia Arquiett supplied two hits and two RBIs for the Larries in an East Division win over the Saints in Brasher Falls.
Brittany Crump added one RBI, and Shelby McGraw had two hits and an RBI for St. Lawrence (11-0, 9-0). Sarah Thayer earned the win for the Larries and allowed just two hits.
Amanda Rivet had the only RBI for St. Regis Falls (0-6).
SALMON RIVER 18,
PARISHVILLE-HOPKINTON 1
Krista Oakes earned an East Division win for Salmon River, allowing just one run over three innings in Parishville.
Brittany Avery went 3-for-3 with three runs scored to lead the Shamrocks (7-1).
Rebecca Toomey and Stacie Tyler accounted for the only two hits for Parishville-Hopkinton (1-11, 1-10).
LOWVILLE 4, CARTHAGE 3
Kim Tarasek doubled home the winning run with two outs in the eighth inning to give Lowville a Frontier League crossover win over visiting Carthage.
